R158,832 – R191,244 per annum

Estimated Total Remuneration Package:
R234,097 – R275,352 per annum


Purpose of the Role:

To provide grass-cutting services at designated sites and facilities across Tshwane, in line with service standards and requests. The role also includes general maintenance at both developed and undeveloped open spaces, natural resources, and facilities to enhance the quality of the local environment.

  • Experience in operating lawnmowers or brush cutters will be an added advantage
  • Good physical health and fitness, with no history of back issues
  • Must consent to a criminal background check and allow fingerprinting by the Tshwane Metro Police Department (at applicant’s own cost)
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Cut grass at various public spaces including decorative parks, playgrounds, traffic islands, malls, boulevards, sports and recreation facilities, cemeteries, crematoriums, resorts, and both developed and undeveloped sites
  • Provide grass-cutting services at municipal facilities such as crèches, old age homes, hostels, and fire stations
  • Operate assigned grass-cutting equipment safely and effectively
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993)
