Position Overview:
Tasked with ensuring the safe, punctual, and regulation-compliant transportation of patients, this role requires strict adherence to patient transport policies and road safety regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification (mandatory)
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s License with an active Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- No prior traffic violations or license infringements
- At least 2 years of proven experience as a professional driver
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with the National Road and Traffic Act
- Immediately report any mechanical or maintenance issues to the Fleet Manager
- Accurately complete daily vehicle logbooks and inspection reports
- Transport goods and staff members as required
- Plan routes and prioritize tasks to optimize time and fuel usage
- Transport patients and passengers safely and efficiently
- Securely park the vehicle in designated areas, ensure it is locked, and store the keys in a safe location
- Ensure the vehicle is refueled prior to weekends or public holidays
- Perform routine checks to ensure all onboard equipment is operational
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained at all times
