About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team in Isando. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing meals according to standardized recipes, handling general food preparation, and maintaining hygiene standards. In addition to cooking, this role also involves managing procurement, contributing to menu planning, and introducing operational improvements to enhance kitchen efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
- Take and prepare customer orders according to specifications
- Cook a wide range of foods including meats, vegetables, soups, baked goods, and specialty items for dietary requirements
- Prepare and cook meals using recipes approved by nutrition professionals
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff and assist with day-to-day kitchen operations
- Coordinate the preparation and timing of meals to ensure complete and prompt service
- Assist with the preparation of salads and desserts
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens
- Report food and supply requirements to supervisors and check in deliveries
- Maintain accurate records of food production
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas, and ensure fridges/freezers are secure
- Serve meals as needed, ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
- Immediately report issues with food quality or equipment to the kitchen manager
- Follow standardized recipe cards for meal preparation
- Be available for shift work, including nights and weekends
- Be physically capable of lifting heavy kitchen equipment

- 2–4 years of experience in food preparation and cooking
Minimum Requirements
- Matric certificate
- Relevant culinary qualification
