Purpose of the Role
To provide front-line clerical and customer service support to both new and existing customers regarding water and related municipal services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle customer enquiries and counter services to resolve queries in line with policies and service standards.
  • Register, cancel, and transfer customer accounts via telephone or in person.
  • Address and resolve consumer account issues, ensuring customer information is updated.
  • Investigate outstanding debts.
  • Approve reconnection orders for water and electricity services upon full payment.
  • Compile daily statistics for counter interactions and telephone calls.
  • Process credit authorizations through the system to recover outstanding accounts.
  • Verify, monitor, and capture data to ensure accuracy of customer and account records.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience
  • Computer literacy

Preferred Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant experience
