Full Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 11 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
- Valid Code 08 or Code 10 driver’s license
- MQA Competency B Certificate and other relevant qualifications, licenses, and training
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a trackless mining environment
- Proficiency in English and at least one other official South African language
- South African citizenship
- Clean criminal record
- Medically fit for the role, as confirmed by our Occupational Health Practitioner (OHP)
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in rotational or cyclical shifts
- Operate a rear-tipping dump truck
- Demonstrate strong operating skills with 1–3 years of relevant experience in a trackless mining setting
- Conduct pre- and post-shift safety checks and complete inspection checklists
- Remain alert and aware when machinery is running or in motion
- Transport and tip ore at designated locations, including stockpiles and conveyor belts
- Assist with preventative maintenance and breakdowns during shifts (refueling, lubrication, oil checks, etc.)
- Contribute to scheduled weekly service tasks
- Ensure equipment is in safe and proper working condition; report any issues to the shift supervisor and control room
- Follow instructions from the designated shift supervisor
- Perform duties in compliance with required standards and technical specifications
- Adhere to MHSA regulations and uphold Gold1’s safety principle: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
